A Harmonious Blend Of Vintage And Modern

The music industry has witnessed numerous transformations over the decades, with artists continually seeking innovation and reinvention. Amidst these evolving trends, few can resist the charm of vintage music that captures the essence of nostalgia and transports listeners to a different era. The Haywood Sisters, a London-based close harmony trio, is a prime example of blending the best of the past with the present, creating a musical experience that captivates audiences of all ages.

Inspired by the iconic Andrews Sisters and The Chordettes, The Haywood Sisters – Georgi, Kath, and Lauren – have crafted their unique sound by fusing classic hits such as "Don't Sit Under the Apple Tree" and "Mr Sandman" with modern numbers that pack a vintage twist. Their performances, characterized by killer curves, sweet harmonies, and a cheeky sense of humour, offer an irresistible invitation to revel in the music of a bygone era, ensuring everyone gets 'In The Mood.'

As Bob Sinfield of Jazz FM aptly described them, The Haywood Sisters are indeed "close-harmony heroines."

Formed five years ago, the trio initially drew inspiration from The Andrews Sisters, but their repertoire has since expanded to include an eclectic mix of songs from The Boswell Sisters, The Shirelles, The Ronettes, and Post Modern Jukebox. This fusion of vintage and modern music is a testament to their versatility and immense talent.

The Haywood Sisters have enjoyed considerable success, with their first album, "It Takes Three Girls," garnering widespread acclaim. Building on this momentum, they collaborated with some of London's finest musicians to record their second album, "Adventuress."

Their festive album, 'Christmas with The Haywood Sisters,' features a delightful blend of songs from both albums, original material, and their unique arrangements of contemporary hits sprinkled with Christmas classics.

Their impressive credits include working with renowned artists such as David Bowie (Live Aid), Thin Lizzy, The Communards, and The Belle Stars. These collaborations highlight their remarkable ability to adapt and thrive in various musical settings, further solidifying their status as a powerhouse trio.

The Haywood Sisters embody the perfect blend of vintage charm and modern appeal, creating a harmonious experience that transcends time. Their captivating performances, diverse repertoire, and undeniable talent have cemented their place as one of London's top close harmony trios.

In a world where musical trends come and go, The Haywood Sisters stand out as a testament to the enduring allure of the past, ensuring that the magic of vintage music continues to enchant audiences for generations to come.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
