THE FAIRWAY FUND
Play with purpose: Every round tells a story
The Fairway Fund was created by Mannings Heath Golf Club in partnership with Focus Foundation to support grassroots charities and community projects across West Sussex.
Through simple acts of giving across the club, members, guests, and visitors can help support local organisations delivering vital services, creating opportunities, and changing lives within our communities.
Because when a community comes together, even the smallest contributions can create a lasting impact.
Across West Sussex, grassroots charities are providing essential support every day.
They help families through difficult times. Support mental wellbeing. Combat isolation. Create opportunities for young people. And provide practical help for those facing life's challenges.
Yet many of these organisations operate with limited funding despite being deeply connected to the communities they serve.
The Fairway Fund exists to help change that.
By bringing together the generosity of our members, visitors, partners, and wider community, we're helping direct funding towards local organisations making a meaningful difference close to home.
SMALL ACTIONS. LASTING LOCAL IMPACT.
The challenges facing our communities
West Sussex is often seen as a prosperous county, but many residents continue to experience significant inequalities in health, wellbeing and access to support.
6-year gap
There is a six-year difference in life expectancy between people living in the most and least deprived areas of West Sussex.*
One-third of residents
More than one-third of West Sussex residents live in coastal communities, where health outcomes are generally poorer than in non-coastal areas.**
9,050 people
There were 9,050 people with severe mental illness recorded on GP registers in 2022/23, an increase of 5% from the previous year.***
22% increase
The number of adults in contact with secondary mental health services increased by 22% between February 2023 and February 2024.****
20,420 young people
An estimated 20,420 children and young people in West Sussex are living with a mental health condition.*****
These figures demonstrate why sustained support for trusted, community-led organisations is so important. Through The Fairway Fund, we can help local charities respond to these challenges and provide practical support where it is needed most.
