Leonardslee Family Vineyards Shines on the International Stage

A Summer of Sparkling Success for Leonardslee Family Vineyards in Paris, Oslo and Beyond

This summer has been one to remember for Leonardslee Family Vineyards, as we proudly represented English sparkling wine at a series of prestigious events in Paris, Oslo, and beyond,  including the official King’s Birthday Party hosted by the British Embassy in France.

A Culinary Collaboration: Brit Pop Paris

Our visit to Paris also included Brit Pop, a vibrant two-day celebration of British food and wine held at Au Passage, a renowned bistro in the heart of the city. Over 1–2 June, chefs Angelica Golten and Elly Polhill served refined takes on British classics using local French produce and English cheeses, each dish paired with a carefully selected English wine.

Leonardslee was proud to be one of four English wineries represented, reflecting the diversity and rising quality of English wine. Johann Fourie joined fellow winemakers for a press lunch and two pop-up evenings, connecting with media, trade and hospitality figures from across the region.

Leonardslee also took part in the King’s Birthday Party in Oslo, Norway, hosted by the British Embassy on 11 June 2025. Guests were treated to our Blanc de Blancs, served alongside a unique brand collaboration with Land Rover, celebrating the best of British innovation.

This event also marked a milestone moment for the estate, coinciding with the first European retail listing of Leonardslee Blanc de Blancs at Vinmonopolet, Norway’s national alcohol monopoly. It’s a meaningful step for our international presence and a testament to the growing demand for premium English sparkling wine abroad.

A Royal Occasion in Paris

Captured by Eleonore de Bonneval

Held on 26 June 2025 in the stunning gardens of the British Embassy in Paris, the King’s Birthday Party was attended by over 2,000 guests, including diplomats, dignitaries, and prominent society figures. As one of a select few English wine producers invited to take part, we were honoured to pour all three of our wines at the event, showcasing the elegance, craftsmanship, and potential of English sparkling wine on a truly global stage.

A Global Future for English Wine

From Royal events to European tastings, the momentum behind English wine continues to build, and Leonardslee Family Vineyards is proud to be part of that journey. Our wines will also soon be available in Qatar Duty Free, featured in a dedicated gondola display, further reinforcing global interest in our growing brand.

Reflecting on the estate’s success, Barry Anderson, Managing Director and Head Viticulturist at Leonardslee, shares:

We’ve had an incredible first year. With strong UK retail listings, award wins, and now international distribution, we’re proud to be flying the flag for English wine. The interest from overseas is growing rapidly, these are truly exciting times
